LOOKOUTS™ CAST/CREW PRIVATE SCREENING & BLACK-TIE WRAP PARTY AT THE CASTRO THEATRE
On Saturday February 20th San Francisco’s famed Castro Theatre opened its curtains to the private screening of RedGate Films' short film LOOKOUTS™. The short is based on the web comic of the same name created by Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik of Penny Arcade®, with an expanded universe created for the film by the RedGate team.
Opening night was a black-tie affair with cast, crew, family, and friends in attendance. The event was invite only and those in the theatre saw the one and only showing of LOOKOUTS™ on the big screen before it moves to festivals and eventually online.
The film finds a group of young boys preparing to battle an evil Basilisk – a seemingly immortal beast that has left a trail of dead wherever it goes. The visual effects are a blur of practical and digital work, with the monster itself being handmade by RedGate. LOOKOUTS™ clocks in at twelve minutes and in that short period of time, RedGate filmmakers David Bousquet and Kristin Bousquet crafted an epic fantasy of taut storytelling and expansive characters.
The film will make its online debut at a later date.
